Priority Migration Skilled Occupation List (PMSOL) Announced !

The priority Migration Occupation List (PMSOL) has announced by the Department of Home Affairs on 2nd of September 2020. It has been stated that since COVID-19 continues to work both within and outside Australia, they will closely track the labor market dynamics and respond to any changes in the country’s skills needs. The announced occupation list includes 17 occupations from critical sectors roles in Australia’s COVID-19 response.

A new priority list of skills and strengthened labor market training would enable a limited number of sponsored skilled workers to return to Australia to meet urgent skills needs in critical sectors, helping to create Australian jobs and rebuild the economy of Australia. The 17 occupations in the Priority Migration Skilled Occupation List (PMSOL) is based on advice from the National Skills Commission and consultation with the relevant Commonwealth agencies and will be checked on a regular basis.

Even-though the government gives priority to the PMSOL occupations List, all other skilled occupation lists will remain active. This list is temporary and is subject to change without a prior notice.
