ACT Critical Skills List has been released!

The Government of Australia has agreed to give priority to the industries that could help the economy of Australia as well as the public health to recover from the damages caused by COVID- 19 pandemic when the Migration program was implemented for the year 2020-21. This includes focusing on migrants who will make sustainable investments in Australia, build employment for Australians, provide vital health and medical skills, and promote economic growth.

A fixed amount of nominations is assigned to the ACT per year under the Territory Migration Agreement. The Australian Government has directed that the nominations rendered to the States and Territories will be focused on the applicants who are essential to supporting the COVID-19 response. This includes individuals delivering basic or specialized medical care, those with the necessary skills required to sustain the supply of vital goods and services, and those delivering services in sectors crucial to Australia’s economic recovery.

The ACT Critical Skills List is used to determine the eligibility for ACT nomination of the following programs:

  • Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) subclass 491 visa.
  • Skilled Nominated (Permanent) subclass 190 visa.

The Canberra Matrix is now open and the next round will take place today itself. Please note that the Canberra Matrix is now open only to the Canberra residents!!!
