Contributory Parent Visa (Subclass 143)

This form of visa enables the parents of an existing Australian citizen, an Australian permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen, to live permanently in Australia. As an applicant for this visa, you can remain permanently in Australia as citizen with full-living rights and you can be a sponsor to eligible relatives of yours to move to Australia. If required, you can travel to and from Australia for 5 years before you need a Resident Return visa.

Contributory Aged Parent Visa (Subclass 864)

This is a permanent visa type for the parents of a settled Australian citizen, a permanent resident of Australia, or an eligible New Zealand citizen. For this visa, you can stay as a permanent resident in Australia and work and study there for as long as you prefer. Under this visa category, you will be eligible for enrolling in Australia’s public health care scheme (Medicare)

Parent Visa (Subclass 103)

Parent Visa Subclass 103 enables a parent of an existing Australian Citizen, an Australian permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen to migrate to Australia. This visa would allow you to stay with your children in Australia, for an unspecified period of time. This category is specially built for parents who lives outside the territory of Australia. This visa has the lowest processing fee of all the parent visas, but the waiting period for an approval can be taken up to 30 years.

 

Eligibility Criteria:

To apply for a Parent Visa (subclass 103), a parent must:

1.Meet the balance of family test

2.Meet health and character requirements

3.Have a sponsor

 

Processing Times:

Receiving the final word can take up to 30 years

Aged Dependent Relative Visa (Subclass 114)

This permanent visa enables a single elderly person, who depends on a relative living in Australia for financial help, to move permanently to Australia. It can take up to 50 years for this form of visas to be processed.

 

Eligibility Criteria:

You must:

  • be dependent on the relative in Australia
  • be single
  • be old enough to receive the Australian aged pension
  • have someone who will provide an assurance of support.

 

Including Family:

You may also file an application for members of your family when you submit your visa application. However, for this visa, your family members are your dependent children or stepchildren. Family members applying for this visa must comply with the health and character standards of Australia.

Length of Stay:

An individual with this visa may spend an indefinite period of time in Australia.

Aged Dependent Relative Visa (Subclass 838)

This permanent visa enables a single elderly person, who depends on a relative living in Australia for financial help, to move permanently to Australia. You should be in Australia when you submit your visa application, and you must be in the country when the visa is granted. 

 

This is a permanent visa which allows you and your family to:

  • stay in Australia indefinitely as an Australian permanent resident.
  • apply for an Australian citizenship
  • travel to and from Australia as a permanent resident for five years from the date the visa is granted – after that time you will need to apply for another visa if you want to return to Australia.

 

Eligibility requirements:

  • You must be in Australia when you apply and when a decision is made on your application
  • be sponsored by your relative/child or your relative’s partner

When applying for this visa you can also submit an application for your family members. The family members who apply with you for this visa must meet the Australian health and character requirements
