Victorian Professional Visa Nomination Program (subclass 190 and 491) for 2020-21 will be opened by the Government of Victoria on Tuesday, 8 September 2020. There will be changes in the manner in which they pick applicants to apply for a Victorian visa, with a new process based on talent and commitment to Victoria’s economic recovery, as well as details in your Expression of Interest (EOI). These reforms are primarily aimed at reacting to the challenges that occurred due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with an emphasis on the economic recovery of the state.
The Skilled Visa Nomination Program up until 5 October 2020
Victoria will initially run a shorter and more focused interim skilled visa appointment program ( subclass 190 and 491) until 5 October 2020.
For this interim period, the government will only allow applicants to apply for a Victorian visa if their Registration of Interest shows that they work in health or medical research and contribute to Victoria’s economic recovery and/or health response.
Registration of Interest for Victorian State Visa Nomination
Applicants must submit a Registration of Interest for Victorian State Visa Nomination in order to be considered for the Victorian Visa Nomination. Applicants who register their interest may then be chosen to apply for Victorian visa nomination.
As a pre-requisite for submitting the Registration of Interest for Victorian State Visa Nomination, it would be better either to make or update your legitimate Expression of Interest (EOI) on the Department of Home Affairs’ SkillSelect website. The information you provide will help them to decide whether you are selected to apply for a Victorian visa nomination.
Applicants should submit Registration of Interest (ROI) by 5.00 p.m AEST, 21 September,
To be eligible to submit the Registration of Interest (ROI) for Victorian visa nomination (subclass 190 and 491) applicants must:
- Now, be living in Victoria, and
- At present, be employed in Victoria (at least six months) and
- Work in a highly skilled health or medical research profession that supports Victoria’s economic recovery and/or health response.
They would then pick the best applicants to apply for the Victorian Visa Nomination
